Meditation: Out with the garbage, in with the peace.
After a few minutes on Twitter, I had to clear my energy. I remembered this wonderful quote from Mahatma Gandhi: “I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.”
Only 10 minutes was necessary to completely clear my mind and my energy with a meditation break.
There is no right or wrong way to meditate. It is practice, that gets better and better the more you do it. Many people concentrate on their breath, breathing in through the nose, expanding the diaphragm, then slowly exhaling through the mouth.
Minds wander. When yours does, you can talk to your thoughts. “Where did you come from? Who sent you?” or, just mentally say the word, “thinking” and the mind becomes clear and focused again.
I have a favorite app with guided meditations. (Insight timer…it’s free!) I have saved my favorite meditations and am happy to share them here.
Sometimes, after a meditation, I feel “nudged” to do something (like share this practice with you!)
Sometimes, I receive an idea. Other times, I simply feel really clear. I have a new perspective. Or I let go of a critical thought about myself.
